How to backup and restore database

To backup or restore your database, ensure you are logged in as Admin to have access to the Settings item in the main menu.

From the main menu, click on settings to open the settings menu

From the settings menu, click on Data Backup to open the Data backup screen.

To backup, click on database backup and enter the name you want the database to be backed up as. Enter a name you will remember. Here, I entered Fresh database

After entering a name, click Yes and the database will be saved as the name you entered.

To restore, click on Database import from the Data backup screen

Select the name you backed up the database with and the current database will be replaced with the backed up database. This implies that the data in the replaced database will not be in the restored database.

Later Update

Google drive backup and restore feature was later added to prevent data loss if phone is lost. Therefore, in the case of lost phone, another phone can be used to install the inventory app and the old database restored from google drive using the gmail account of the old phone. 

To use the google drive backup and restore feature, you must be signed into your google account. And you must accept the google drive permission.
